At the end of this module, participants will be able to:
Explain the goal of oxygen therapy and identify signs and symptoms of hypoxia
Define and differentiate between oxygen modalities utilized within Nova Scotia Health
Identify common disease processes and reasonings which would require a tracheostomy
Demonstrate tracheostomy stoma site care, including inner cannula change and suctioning, guided by Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures
List and explain required emergency equipment for a patient with a tracheostomy
Discuss anticipated investigations and actions for a decompensating respiratory patient
