RefWorks is a web-based citation manager that is available to all Nova Scotia Health staff and physicians. Your RefWorks account is also accessible from any computer or device with an internet connection. Note that there are two different versions of RefWorks: RefWorks, and Legacy RefWorks.
There are several ways to save citations to RefWorks:
The best way to save or import citations will depend on the database or resource being searched.
RefWorks Write-N-Cite is a Microsoft Word plugin that allows you to insert citations from your RefWorks library, and automatically populate and format a reference list as you write. Write-N-Cite works with both RefWorks and Legacy RefWorks.
Download Write-N-Cite here, paying special attention to your operating system.
Note: RefWorks users can also use Citation Manager, which is a new Microsoft Word plugin. Citation Manager can be installed from within Microsoft Word, through the Microsoft store. Citation Manager is not compatible with Legacy RefWorks.
If you have shared some RefWorks folders with colleagues in the past, but now find that the link to the shared folder is no longer working, see the document below for guidance.
