Health System Leadership Academy

This 12-month system-wide leadership development program is focused on creating a common language and approach to leadership development. Based on the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework, participants will learn through:

  • knowledge acquisition
  • individual and group application
  • relationship building
  • leadership coaching

CHA Learning is the formal learning partner for this program.

CHA Learning will host program materials for all cohorts on their learning management system (Brightspace), which is accessed through a learning portal. Program Overview

The program is delivered across three cohorts:

  • Emerging
  • Experienced
  • Executive

Based on the LEADS framework, participants will learn through knowledge acquisition, coaching, and self-reflection. 

Health system leaders from NS Health, IWK, and the Government of Nova Scotia have been selected to participate in this program. For more information, please follow the link below.

The Health Leadership Academy has received certification from Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Medicine to provide Continuing Professional Development and Medical Education accreditation to physicians in Nova Scotia who participate in the program.  Each cohort has access to a maximum number of credit hours (Emerging – 100.5 hours, Experienced – 105.5 hours and Executive – 45 hours).
