Service Levels

Primary Care Clinics - Primary Care Clinics offer team assessments and will offer the primary care provider recommendations on how to help you manage the patients’ pain. Each clinic will also offer a Pain Self-Management Program.

Secondary Care Clinics - Secondary Care Clinics also offer team assessments, but are also able to offer nerve blocks within the clinic and in some cases medication trials. They may have individual/group counselling available along with the ability to provide individual/group physiotherapy instruction. Each clinic will also offer a Pain Self-Management Program.

Tertiary Care Clinic - There is one Tertiary Care Clinic in Nova Scotia. This clinic is located in Halifax and is resourced to meet complex needs. This clinic offers team assessments, several pain specialists, addiction specialist, medication trials, offers complex blocks, individual physiotherapy/counselling and vocational support. This clinic will also offer a Pain Self-Management Program.
