Create a schedule and manage your time wisely

  • Read the module objectives and complete pre-learning materials, so that you come to the in-person session prepared. 
  • Commit to reviewing the Learning Management System (LMS) courses, policies and procedures, as well as Dynamic Health content. One of the most important ways to succeed at online learning is to be deliberate with your time.
  • Prioritize your pre-learning: start with mandatory content.

Stay organized and be thorough

  • Have a designated study space that is free of distractions, so you can focus on your work. 
  • Organize information by creating charts, outlines, study guides, flashcards, concept maps, chapter maps, etc. 

Remain engaged throughout the modules

  • For each module, prepare and review learning objectives/outcomes as well as pre-learning materials.
  • Identify key areas where you would like to progress and develop a plan for improvement. 
  • Stay connected with your classmates. They are a great resource for tips for online learning success.
  • Reach out to your course coordinator/CNE if you have questions.

Take care of yourself

  • Look inward for motivation. Remember the goal you are working toward as you work through the challenges of being a new staff member.
  • Stay healthy by getting adequate rest, nutrition and exercise. 
  • Use positive self-talk to reduce anxiety. 
  • Schedule time to take care of yourself and spend time with your loved one(s).
  • Keep a growth mindset. Your success has as much to do with your effort as it does with your ability. 
  • Monitor your self-talk and try to stay positive.
