The Pain Management Unit (PMU) is an outpatient clinic located on the
4th Floor of the Dickson Building, at the Victoria General site of the QEII. Upon referral from a health care provider, the PMU team provides assessments, treatments, and education to persons living with chronic pain.
The Pain Management Unit also operates satellite clinics at the
Hants Community Hospital, as well as a
community clinic on Albro Lake Road in Dartmouth for persons suffering from both pain and addiction.
NOTE: referrals and appointments for both of these clinics are managed centrally in the Dickson PMU clinic.
Pain Specialists at the PMU will often encourage patients to sign up for the Pain Self-Management Program (PSMP) as well as receiving their clinical treatments at the PMU.
