Overview

IPAC must be involved in Construction, Renovation, Maintenance and Design (CRMD) at all health care facilities. There are standards and guidelines that must be followed, most notably by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA):

All Nova Scotia Health Infection Control Practitioners (ICPs) are trained to advise on the guidance provided by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). Long-term Care Infection Control (IC) designates are encouraged to contact the Nova Scotia Health IPAC team for support and advice for CRMD activities.
