Health Transformation Hub

Key Messages

  • One Person One Record (OPOR) will transform the way physicians and clinicians work, to deliver care more effectively and efficiently to all Nova Scotians.
  • OPOR is a multi-year, collaborative program between IWK Health, Nova Scotia Health, and the Nova Scotia government. Once fully implemented, the OPOR Clinical Information System will give patients and providers seamless access to the information and care processes they need, replacing more than 80 health information applications with one system.
  • OPOR will provide access to clinical information between IWK Health sites and Nova Scotia Health zones.

Overview

OPOR, as part of the larger digital health care transformation under the Action for Health, directly supports initiatives like digital health records, medication management and safety, and clinical standardization.

OPOR will improve patient experiences and outcomes, impacting more than 23,000 clinicians and health system employees, and more than 6000 students across multiple facilities within four zones and two organizations.
